Trentham Gardens

PROJECT Overview

One Visit. Zero Compromise.

Trentham Gardens is one of Britain’s most celebrated visitor attractions. Set across hundreds of acres of Staffordshire countryside, the estate welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to its award-winning Italian Gardens, mile-long lake, shopping village, and family spaces. As EV adoption accelerates and visitor expectations evolve, Trentham Gardens recognised that providing reliable, high-quality EV charging infrastructure was no longer optional, it was essential to the visitor experience.

When it came to deploying that infrastructure, the project brought together three of the best in the business: Project EV charging hardware, expert installation by Connected Services’ Adam Woodward, and the TetrikPod as the foundation of it all.

The Challenge

Installing EV charging at a heritage visitor destination like Trentham Gardens comes with its own set of demands. The site is busy, the environment is meticulously maintained, and any installation work needs to be executed efficiently, cleanly, and with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the estate. Traditional groundworks approaches often require multiple return visits. First to lay foundations and complete groundworks, then to return at a later date for second fix. This multi-visit model adds programme time, increases costs, and introduces unnecessary disruption to the site and its visitors.

The project required a smarter approach from the ground up.

The Solution

The Trentham Gardens installation is a clear demonstration of what becomes possible when the right products and the right people come together. By deploying the TetrikPod as the ground mount foundation for Project EV charge point hardware, the installer, Adam Woodward of Connected Services, was able to complete groundworks and second fix in a single visit. One mobilisation. One clean, efficient install.

The key outcomes speak for themselves:

Faster Delivery
Perhaps the most immediate benefit. Completing groundworks and second fix in a single visit is a significant operational advantage — it compresses the installation timeline, reduces the burden on site managers, and gets charge points live and revenue-generating faster.

Reduced Disruption
Highly important in a live visitor environment like Trentham Gardens. A single visit means a single window of any ground-level activity, keeping the impact on the surrounding estate to an absolute minimum.

Reduced CAPEX
Fewer mobilisations, fewer return visits, and a more streamlined programme all contribute to a more cost-effective installation without any compromise on quality.

Long-term Infrastructure Performance
The TetrikPod isn’t a shortcut, it’s an engineered solution designed to provide a stable, durable foundation that supports the charge point hardware above it for the life of the installation.
