Kings Head Inn is a 17th-century four-star inn nestled in Llangennith on the Gower Peninsula, Wales, one of the most breathtaking and unspoiled corners of the British Isles.
Having already laid the groundwork for guest EV charging with the TetrikPOD-1, the inn took the next step in building out its charging infrastructure with the installation of the TetrikPOD-4, a quad pod foundation deployed ahead of a 60kW DC rapid charger, supplied by Project EV, serving both inn guests and the wider visiting public.

TPOD-GA004 installed at the Kings Head Inn, Gower Peninsula, Wales.
Installing a foundation for a 60kW DC rapid charger is, by conventional standards, a significant undertaking. Infrastructure of this scale typically demands plant equipment, crane works, and the logistical complexity that comes with them: added cost, added programme time, and added disruption to a working hospitality site in a cherished rural setting. For a location like Kings Head Inn on the Gower Peninsula, that kind of heavy-handed approach simply isn’t acceptable.
The project required a solution that could deliver at scale without the usual baggage.
With the hole pre-dug and the TetrikPOD-4 ready to deploy, the installation was completed within a single day. No crane. No plant equipment. No costly logistics. Just two people carrying and placing the POD-4 into position, a remarkable contrast to what a foundation install of this size would typically demand.
Paired with a Project EV 60kW DC rapid charger, the completed installation will provide rapid charging for B&B guests and general tourists visiting the Gower Peninsula, giving Kings Head Inn a meaningful role in supporting the wider EV charging network in the area.
The results speak for themselves.
No Crane or Lifting Works Required
This is the headline. A foundation designed to support a 60kW DC rapid charger, carried and placed into position by two people. No crane, no plant, no specialist lifting equipment. The TetrikPOD-4 fundamentally changes what is possible on sites where heavy machinery is impractical, unwelcome, or simply unnecessary.
Completed in a Single Day
With the hole pre-dug, the full installation was wrapped up within a day. A compressed programme, minimal disruption, and a site returned to normal as quickly as possible.
Reduced CAPEX
Removing crane works and heavy plant from the programme doesn’t just save time — it delivers meaningful cost savings without any compromise on the quality or performance of the finished foundation.
Built for Rapid Charging Infrastructure
The TetrikPOD-4 is engineered to support exactly this kind of deployment. A robust, durable foundation ready to support a 60kW DC Project EV rapid charger for the long term, serving guests and tourists for years to come.
